Comcast (Xfinity) - the Internet Devil Itself!Well, this has little to do with making a living from home, but it is still somewhat related, since you have to have internet to be able to earn your living in the first place.

The thing is that I have to share my frustration with Comcast (Xfinity) – Internet and cable provider.

I cannot help wondering if you guys are experiencing the same problems as me with Comcast… Let me explain.

Since I came to the U.S. about 4 years ago, I have used Comcast as my internet and cable provider. I do not remember exactly what I paid back then when I was living in my first apartment, but after moving about 1.5 years ago, I came across a deal they kept more or less hidden of $63/month for Wifi and 8 TV channels.

You could only find this deal if you really digged into their website (not only the salesman I spoke with knew about this deal back then).

Anyhow, I was billed the correct amount of $63 for the first 4 months and after this I noticed that my bill kept increasing little by little each month. I do not know if it is only me experiencing this, but their invoices are so complicated to read…!

They have a section; “other charges” that tends to be the increasing factor in each invoice. What the “h…ck” is this charge for?

My bill started raising to $78/month and then $84/month. When I called customer service to ask how this could be possible, they could NOT even explain what they were charging for in this section. Unbelievable!!

Work from home scams to avoid in 2017 - Make a Living from Home in 2017One of the last customer service representatives I spoke with said that I had to ask my local Comcast representative about those charges. “Do I even have a LOCAL representative is my question??” I have never heard of this and I am always directed to the regular customer service number (800) 934-6489.

After a moment of silence from the guy at the other end, he asked me if I wanted the number to my local customer representative. I told him to please text it to me because I was driving.

Well, that text never came.

I forgot about this for a while until we had to call for technical support. That is just another thing – Comcast’s Wifi signal sucks!!

We have problems with their internet service in our house on a DAILY basis. It goes on and off…and I cannot allow that situation, since I work from home running my businesses online and lose money from less active work time every time this happens.

I cannot even count how many times I have called Comcast about this issue.

Oh by the way I almost forgot, last time I called in about the internet being down again they were generous enough to credit my account $2 from a whole day without internet. Can you believe it – $2 what a joke!!

When I told her (this time it was a woman) that $2 would HARDLY cover what I miss not being able to work during the whole day, she started to explain how they calculate the credit. I interrupted her and said I was not even interested in hearing it.

Anyhow, they had to send out a technician to get the internet up again, which resulted in 3 DAYS with no internet instead.

On top of this, and when their equipment did not function, they charged us $90 on the next invoice for sending out the technician!! This can’t be happening!?

Of course I called again and questioned them about this. I asked how they could have the nerve to make us pay when it was their fault that the Wifi was not working. The only answer I got was that they do charge when they send out a technician.

After all the calling back and forth and their customer service representatives giving me different reasons to my high invoice I decided to finally cancel the subscription with Comcast. What a relief!

However, then I got the next cold shower! When I asked about my deposit and when I would get it back, the woman on the line told me that they do not pay back deposits.

Shut the back door – WHAT!!!??

Is not a deposit a deposit meant to be paid back? I questioned her if Comcast really could get away with not paying back deposits to people and she answered quietly; “yes”.

I got so angry I had to hold back my tongue from not cursing her out. I know it is not the woman on the line making the rules. She is just an employee doing her job, but I would honestly not sleep good at all at night working for a company like Comcast.

I asked to talk to the manager, but of course she told me the manager was out running an errand at the time. I said: “Really? How convenient!

I told her that I expected a call back from her manager, but of course no one called me after our conversation.

I bet the managers are fleeing the field quicker than lightening in matters like these.

Conclusion – Comcast the Internet Devil Itself!

In my opinion Comcast is a big SCAM. They have set into system to scam people with mysteriously higher the invoices from month to month.

Exactly the same happened to my dear friends and they have already left Comcast to go with AT&T instead.

I would warn anyone yet not decided what internet provider to go with, not to go with Comcast. Choose another internet and cable provider and spare yourself from lots of headache and a thinner wallet.

You will get so frustrated trying to figure out what they are charging extra for that you will pull your hair. I have been so angry with them and I still am. I am going to get my deposit back one way or another!

My question is if anyone else had problems with Comcast? Someone has to stop them from running such an unethical business.

I told them to cancel my subscription after two weeks from now, so I can find another provider. Do you guys know of a good, reliable internet provider?
